Statutory Benefits

Mandatory benefits in Zimbabwe
Includes 4.5% Social Security (NSSS), 1% Training Levy, 2% to 11% Workers Compensation Insurance, and 0.5% Standard Development Fund.
The payroll frequency can be monthly, bi-weekly, or weekly.
Includes 4.5% Social Security (NSSS) and 3% AIDS Levy.
The standard workweek is 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. Employees are entitled to 24 consecutive hours of rest per week.
Progressive tax rates: 0% for 0-300,000 ZWL, 20% for amounts above 300,000 ZWL up to 720,000 ZWL, 25% for amounts above 720,001 ZWL up to 1,440,000 ZWL, 30% for amounts above 1,440,001 ZWL up to 2,880,000 ZWL, 35% for amounts above 2,880,001 ZWL up to 6,000,000 ZWL, 40% for amounts above 6,000,001 ZWL.
All hours above the standard workweek are paid at a minimum overtime rate of 150% salary. Working on a public holiday is paid at 200% of normal salary.
98 days of maternity leave on full pay for a female employee with at least one year of service. Can be availed a maximum of three times with respect to total service to any one employer.
30 calendar days (22 working days) leave after a continuous employment period of 1 year.
Up to 90 days sick leave on full pay with a medical certificate. Extended medical leave can be requested under certain conditions.
Approximately 12 public holidays per year. Public holidays falling on weekends are moved to the next working day.
